Winchester Shoutout is a new place for the stories, people and everyday happenings that make Winchester feel like home.

Our aim is simple: to bring useful local information together with the kind of stories that help people feel more connected to the city around them.

Winchester has plenty going on, but it is easy for good news, community projects and interesting local voices to get lost in the noise.

We want to make those things easier to discover.

That means keeping an eye on local events, independent businesses, neighbourhood news and the people putting their time and energy into Winchester.

It also means sharing practical updates that might help you decide where to go, what to see and what is worth knowing about this week.

This is not meant to be a distant view of Winchester.

It is intended to feel like something made for people who actually live here, work here, visit regularly or simply care about what happens here.

Over time, we hope Winchester Shoutout becomes a familiar stop for discovering something new about the city.

That might be a business you have walked past but never tried, a local event you nearly missed, a community group doing valuable work, or a story about someone worth knowing.

The best local publications are conversations, not noticeboards.

So we also want to hear from readers.

If there is a Winchester story, event, business, person or project you think deserves a shoutout, we want to know about it.

As the publication grows, that local input will help shape what we cover and where we look next.

Most importantly, we want this to be enjoyable to read.

There is already enough clutter competing for everyone's attention, so Winchester Shoutout will aim to keep things clear, useful and genuinely local.

Consider this the beginning.

We are looking forward to exploring Winchester with you, meeting more of the people behind the city and giving worthwhile local stories the attention they deserve.
